VPG Introduces the MV-1

With the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) approaching, a new American car company presented a breakthrough mobility solution to attendees at The National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Annual Conference yesterday.  The new MV-1 is a major milestone for the 14 million American adults who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices that present a significant obstacle for routine activities such as traveling in a car

The MV-1 will be built in the United States at the AM General assembly plant in Mishawaka, Indiana and is expected to go on sale here in the US in the fourth quarter of 2010.  The final piecing has yet to be announced; however the base model is expected to be value priced under $40,000.

According to the manufacturer’s site, the MV-1 is the only purpose-built vehicle that was designed from the ground up for wheelchair accessibility. The MV-1 meets or exceeds Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) vehicle guidelines, features an incredibly durable body-on-frame vehicle architecture, and is the only vehicle in its class with an available Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) engineered and assembled Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling system option. The MV-1 is filled with features that provide a comfortable and safe ride for all.

If you or someone you know is in need of a handicap accessible vehicle, then you must check out the new MV-1.  This is a one of a kind vehicle that really is designed to suit the needs of someone with a disability.  Check out the features of the MV-1 online.  With a Ford powered 4.6L, V8 engine, this is one vehicle you don’t want to miss out on!
