I keep a first aid kit specifically for carrying in the car. In addition to the usual antiseptic, bandages, etc., it also has flares and distress flags.
Besides an emergency car kit, I also have a set of jumper cables. I keep a box of granola bars and an extra sweater handy as well.

I have an emergency bag in my car that I made myself. It has hats, socks, sweatshirts, first aide stuff, blankets, water, cereal bars, flashlights, shovels, books, small toys…whatever I would need to keep everyone in my car safe for however long it would take for help to arrive.
The NUMBER ONE item in the kit though, is a CRANK operated flashlight/radio/cell phone charger. Even if the car battery dies, I know I can have light and be able to keep my cell phone charged!

I have this nifty little emergency kit that I keep in the car. It contains jumper cables, flashlight and batteries, tire sealant, rain poncho, first aid kit, screwdriver, pliers and electrical tape. Everything I would need in a bright orange bag. This will be a life saver if I ever need it since the only thing I can do on a car besides wash it, is pumping gas and adding oil.

One of the many things that I keep in my car in case of an emergency may sound a little crazy, but, I keep some pepper spray in my glovebox in case I am ever stranded on the side of the road or anywhere and I would have to protect myself.

I have all that You listed but since I was in a really bad accident I found the best thing of all I had in My van was a list of phone numbers for Me to call in an emergency helped the Police and Fire and ambulance get My Husband and My Inlaws Right away….because it was in My glove box when they went looking for ID…..I had all My phone numbers there along with towing and repair

I keep a list of the actual emergency #’s for my area – each county and city I frequent. We had an incident where when calling 911 on my cell phone after witnessing an accident it went to the wrong county and they can’t forward or transfer.

A toolkit with wrenches, wratchets, screwdrivers, etc. It has many sizes in both metric and standard. I often wonder why people carry jumper cables, but not a toolkit. The toolkit has been used many more times than my jumper cables. Usually not by me, but certainly by the friend fixing my car, the person in the passenger seat who knows more than I do, and the really nice older man who pulled over to see if he could help.

I always have my “emergency” kit: a small first aid kit, a tire pressure gauge, my “shake” flashlight, a small candle, a lighter, jumper cables, a blanket, a bottle of water, a flare, a collapsible shovel, and a printout of directions of how to change a tire.
I always have a set of jumper cables in the car. I’ve never needed them for myself, but you’d be surprised how often I’ve helped others out.

I have small kids, my “emergency bag” in the trunk includes a first aid kit, travel potty, sweatshirts for the kids, change of clothes for the kids, waterproof anoraks for all of us, snacks, and water bottles. And some small things to entertain the kids if need be (small frisbee, bubbles . . . )

i have one of those emergency flashlights that also has a pointed metal piece that can break a window if necessary and a cutter you can slide your seatbelt into and cut it.
Besides jumper cables, I keep a blanket in the trunk. In case the weather is cold or if we need something to help the wheels catch some traction.
Well I live in the north so we get cold winters, so I make sure to keep blankets in my car and I also have a car brake down kit that has jumpers, first aid items, gloves, flashlight, screwdriver, and a bunch of other little things.

I never drive more than a couple miles from home, in densely populated areas, so we never need a true emergency kit.

I guess I don’t really have anything just in case. I used to carry around a mechanic tool set, but I never used it, so I took it out. I do always carry my cell phone which in today’s world fixes anything, right?
I’m CPR certified so I keep the CPR mouth cover and and extra set of latex free gloves in my van. You never know, I’ve always prayed that I’ll never have to use it, but if the need arises…I can.

I’m with Elizabeth: my “emergencies” are awfully mundane. So I’ve got the usual junk in there (jumper cables, tire jack, etc.). But the only “emergency supply” I’ve actually used is the spare pack of tampons I keep in the glove compartment. One of these days I’ll be pulled over for speeding and die of embarrassment when I dig for my insurance card, I’m sure…

I have one of those sturdy hiking backpacks that I keep inside my car. It’s easy to grab and is fully loaded with: a pair of jeans, long sleeve top-heavy sweater and my comfy Adidas. As well as a hat, pair of gloves & a waterproof blanket. There’s a large zip bag filled with trail mix/protein bars, several bottles of water, my medicine bag, and a mini 1st aid kit. I have road flares, a can of fix-a-flat and a set of waterproof matches along with crumpled up newspaper. I have a flashlight, a compass and know how to use it. I have china markers so I can write on the car windows when I broke down. In my glove box I have a Life Hammer tool for breaking glass and cutting seat belts.
Yeah, the back pack is heavy but I know I won’t starve or freeze if my cell phone doesn’t work. If I need to walk to the next exit or something I’ll be prepared! I also have packed my brain because I enrolled in a self defense class…a Must for everyone!

This is probably one of the least important things but it’s one of the few things I always have with me – a blanket. I figure it’s useful in a variety of ways. Obviously, for warmth. But also, if necessary, potential traction for a tire or two, and, in the summer, a picnic blanket!

i always have a gas can in the trunk. Funny story, my husband ran out of gas and had to buy the expensive gas station can, which he then promptly put in the garage, only to run out of gas again a couple weeks later, and he had to buy a can again…NOW they stay in the car at all times…and what the heck can’t he read the gas gauge??

Baby wipes in the car are a must for those spills that always happen.
Besides the usual flashlight, extra oil, and the like, I keep a small air compressor that run off the cigar lighter. There is no way I could change the big tires on my truck in case of a flat, but the compressor would allow me to put enough air into the tire to make it to a service station for a proper patch.

First aid kits in the car are used up quickly. I remember my mother’s had things so old in her kit that the covers turned brownish and the bandaides won’t stick.

The one thing I keep in the CAR incase of an emergency is a emergency roadside kit. It has a flashlight, a flare type thing to put on the road, a shiny poncho thing that is good for up to 20 degrees weather, bandaids, etc…etc… I have my cell phone in my purse, so that is not something I consider keeping in the car
