Feeling Charitable? Donate Your Ride to Kidney Cars
Want to start the New Year off right? Donating your old car to the National Kidney Foundation before December 31 could garner you a trip for four to Pebble Beach, a chance to win $25,000.00 or one of 25 other awesome prizes.
The National Kidney Foundation is celebrating its 25th anniversary of the Kidney Cars Program and by donating your used car, truck or boat by December 31, 2008, you’ll automatically be entered into the celebration sweepstakes. The Grand Prize is a weekend for four at Pebble Beach, including golf, plus a chance to win a $25,000.00 cash prize. There are a total of 25 prizes including a year’s worth of free gas and oil changes.
Not only can your donation be a possible tax deduction, but you’ll be supporting kidney research, camps for children on dialysis, kidney screenings for those at risk, public and professional education programs and more.
Over the last 25 years, more than 650,000 used vehicles have helped generate $150 million into life-saving programs.
Kidney Cars Program Director, Chad Iseman:
“Kidney Cars is one of the key revenue drivers for the National Kidney Foundation, enabling us to conduct vital outreach programs in the community and grassroots educational efforts. Seventy five cents of every dollar donated to Kidney Cars goes directly to programs and services. The 25th Anniversary Sweepstakes is designed to call attention to Kidney Cars and also to reward our generous donors, many of whom have supported us with multiple donations over the years.”
Kidney Cars offers nationwide, year-round pick-up service. Donors can call 1-800-488-CARS with information about the vehicle or to start the process online. On average, over 75% of the proceeds from Kidney Cars goes back to the National Kidney Foundation and its affiliates to support patient and family services, education, and research of kidney disease. According to the National Kidney Foundation, the national average for other vehicle donation programs is 40%.
The National Kidney Foundation is the nation’s leading voluntary health agency dedicated to preventing kidney and urinary tract diseases, improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increasing the availability of all organs for transplantation.

Thank you for the heads up. I posted it on facebook. I don’t have a car to donate, but I hope this news might motivate people to consider doing so.
I lost my mother at a young age due to Kidney disease. She was only 39. Thanks for raising awareness for the National Kidney Foundation!
