Notable Women in the Automotive Industry: Linda Goodspeed, Nissan North America, Inc.
Linda Goodspeed is the vice president and chief information officer for Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). Goodspeed is responsible for all information systems and services within North America.
In March 2008, Vice President and CIO, Robert Greenberg left the company and shortly after Goodspeed joined the Nissan team. At that time, she was listed as a managing partner for a Detroit area firm called WealthStrategies Financial Advisors. However, previously she had spent six years as an executive VP of Lennox International with responsibilities including IT, business development, strategic sourcing; and was president and COO for PartMiner Inc. She also worked at a Nissan research and development facility in the 90’s after many years with Ford Motor Company as well as serving as a general manager at GE appliance.
Although Goodspeed’s most recent positions have focused on IT, she began her career in the automotive industry, serving as manager in engineering and program management at Nissan Technical Center North America (NTCNA). She also held several development and vehicle engineering positions at Ford Motor Company.
Goodspeed holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
There may only be three females out of over forty executives as Nissan, but it appears as though Goodspeed has not only a vast range of expertise, but is also paving the way for women throughout the automotive industry everywhere.
