Prevent an Accident Today
Did you know that most accidents could have been prevented if the driver would have been following simple rules they had to know in order to pass their driving test? If you follow these very basic rules of thumb, you’re actually less likely to be involved in a wreck. It’s just the other drivers on the road you have to worry about now!
Keep Distractions to a Minimum
Although it’s not illegal in all states, you shouldn’t text and drive and if you need to talk on the phone, you should always utilize a hands free device. Eating and drinking should also be kept to a minimum while driving. A driver’s instinct is to grab something if it falls, which means you could jerk the wheel without even batting an eyelash!
Don’t be Too Aggressive
Sure it’s great to be a defensive driver, but you don’t want to go over the top and become an aggressive driver instead. Not only does screaming, yelling and gesturing at other drivers make them angry at you, but it also takes your focus off your own driving. Not to mention, when you become aggressive toward other motorists, you open the door to an unsafe trip. You never know what another person will do to “get even” with another driver.
Use Common Sense
Follow the rules of the law. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the road, however if you remember follow at a safe distance, use your turn signals, be aware of other drivers and your surroundings, you’ll be surprised at how much quicker your reaction time is. This may safe your own life as well as your loved ones.
