Walter P. Chrysler Museum Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle Program

chrysler museumDo you ever wonder what kind of gift to get the person who already seems to have everything?  Well, here’s an idea that I think is really cool – especially when you’re looking for that perfect gift for someone who already has it all, or when you’re trying to come up with a really unique gift idea that screams “original!”

Chrysler just launched two commemorative programs which benefit the Walter P. Chrysler Museum (I’ve mentioned the museum here on Cars for Girls a few times). The programs are Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle. Either program is a terrific way to recognize and honor a loved one’s passion for cars – or maybe you might like to celebrate a personal or professional milestone of your own. The nonprofit museum, which is located in Auburn Hills, Michigan, is launching both programs, which gives car enthusiasts an avenue for public expression, and allows the museum to raise much needed funds for programs, exhibitions and events that are held at the museum.

The Brick Legacy program will use thousands of paver bricks which will grace the museum’s front porch and back patio. The bricks can be engraved with messages of celebration, recognition and other sentiments, and will create an outdoor exhibition of permanent, personal declarations that will greet museum visitors for decades to come.

The paver bricks are available in two sizes – 4″ x 8″ at $125 and 8″ x 8″ at $250 – and accommodate 12 character messages of three and four lines.  If you’re already a member of the Walter P. Chrysler Museum, you’re eligible for a $25 discount on each brick you buy.

The Adopt-a-Vehicle program enables individuals and groups to support the care and maintenance of a favorite among nearly three dozen of the vehicles on exhibit in the museum. Ranging from a 1902 Rambler to a 1997 Plymouth Prowler, the options include oldie but goodie classics like AMC, DeSoto, and Hudson, Nash and Willys, as well as heritage models from the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands.

If you adopt a car, you’ll be recognized for your effort on signs which are in visible proximity to their adopted vehicles.  These can be adopted “in memory” or “in honor” of someone and noted as such on the sign.

Vehicle adoptions are $500 per year or $450 for museum members.

Contributions for both the Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle programs are tax deductible. Funds from the programs will be used for operations and to maintain the museum’s total heritage vehicle collection.

Brick Legacy and Adopt-a-Vehicle reservation forms are available online via the Support the Museum tab of the Museum’s new Web site at www.wpchryslermuseum.org and can be submitted via fax at 248-944-0460 or mail at One Chrysler Dr., CIMS 488-00-00, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. The Museum accepts payment via check or American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

The Walter P. Chrysler Museum Foundation is a nonprofit public charity which relies on income from admissions, the gift shop, facility rentals and programs.
